ALFREDO LERMA LUTHIER
Lutes & Historical Guitars
Trajectory
In 2006, I began making musical instruments in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since then, I have been working and training with teachers in different parts of the world, to perfect my profession and improve the transmission of knowledge to apprentices.
For more than ten years, I have worked with bowed string instruments (violins, violas, cellos, double basses) and plucked string instruments (harps, lyres and pianolas; mandolins, lutes and theorbos; jaranas, vihuelas and classical, romantic, renaissance and baroque guitars).
Currently, I reside in Montevideo, Uruguay, where I continue with my research and craft activities, while training the next generation of luthiers. Above all, I love musical variety, respecting the methods and techniques of these arts and crafts, which allow me to continue learning and teaching.
Lutherie courses
What is lutherie? It's an art as diverse as the world of instruments themselves. To facilitate my students' understanding of the trade, these courses are organized into specific and complementary modules.
In these classes, we review specific topics or take an in-depth approach to address a student's specific goals. You can learn more about the offerings here.
