Alfredo Lerma was born in 1975 in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He graduated as a Mechanical Technician and moved to the Federal Capital to pursue studies in Engineering, Social Sciences, and Performing Arts.

He began constructing his first musical instruments in 2006 and has since worked with violins, violas, cellos, and double basses, as well as vihuelas, classical, romantic, and baroque guitars, lutes, theorbos, mandolins, and other instruments from the Middle East.

He is currently located in Montevideo, Uruguay, where he creates, restores, and preserves musical instruments for private collectors, museums, conservatories, music schools, and individual artists.
